Profile
Ford Motor Company established its ASEAN regional headquarters in Bangkok in 2003, from where it manages the production, distribution, sales and servicing of Ford brand vehicles across its ASEAN markets. More than 350 Ford employees are currently based in Thailand, including both its corporate offices in Bangkok and Rayong.

Ford Operations (Thailand) is a BOI-promoted company. Affiliated companies of Ford Motor Company in Thailand include Ford Sales and Service (Thailand), Ford Motor Company (Thailand), Co. Ltd., and AutoAlliance (Thailand), the successful joint-venture between Ford and Mazda, located on Thailand's Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate.

AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) is one of Ford Motor Company's flagship regional production hubs. Since this state-of-the-art facility went online in 1995, Ford has remained one of Thailand's largest exporters, both in terms of volume and export revenue.

In October 2007, Ford Motor Company and Mazda Motor Corporation jointly announced an additional $500 million investment to expand production at AAT, adding to the nearly $1 billion already invested in the facility. The expanded plant has an annual capacity of 275,000 units, and produces the one-ton Ford Ranger pickup and new global Ford Fiesta passenger car.

The one-ton Ford Ranger pickup is currently exported to more than 130 countries around the world, outside of North America. In August 2007, Ford and Mazda celebrated the production milestone of one million units at the AAT plant since it began operations.

Production of the new Ford Fiesta began in 2010 for sale in the domestic market, and export to the ASEAN region and Tri-nations of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

In June 2010, Ford Motor Company announced a new investment of $450 million to build a new, highly-flexible, state-of-the-art passenger car production facility in Rayong. Production will commence in 2012.

Ford Motor Company is an active participant in numerous social and community projects throughout Thailand. The Company launched Ford's global Driving Skills for Life campaign in Thailand in 2008, and has since had more than 1,200 licensed drivers participate in the free training across Thailand. Ford also received a global '2007 Nehemiah Award' from Habitat for Humanity for distinguished volunteer service after building 85 new homes in Phang Nga province for victims of the December 2004 Tsunami. The Company proudly donates its Ford vehicles, supplies, human resources and funds to assist victims of natural disasters in Thailand in times of need.
