| Established in 1993, General Motors Thailand has been operating as GM's regional hub for vehicle production for both domestic sales and export for over ten years. Representing an extensive investment totaling over U.S.$800 million, the GM Thailand manufacturing center in Rayong province is one of GM's most advanced automotive facilities worldwide, producing world-class quality vehicles for GM and its affiliates under the names Chevrolet, GMC, Holden and Isuzu. A leader in environmental friendly vehicles, as well as alternative energy technology, GM Thailand has introduced Thailand's first OEM natural gas powered sedan in the Optra CNG. The Colorado CNG is also the first Thai made pickup that gives consumers a solution to fuel economy with natural gas, duel fuel system. Over the years GM Thailand has received a number of prestigious awards, particularly for safety and environmental management. It has been recognized for environmental friendly vehicles with the Green Label for the Optra Estate and the Aveo.
