| Details: This month our guest speaker is Ms. Supinya Klangnarong, Board Member of Thai Netzen Network (focusing on Internet freedom) and the Campaign for Popular Media Reform (CPMR) (focusing on media, broadcast and telecom reform). She will speak on "Cyber liberty vs. National Security: Is there a Compromise in Thailand?" Ms. Supinya is a media-policy advocate and visiting lecturer based in Bangkok. Her current eminent positions include: - Vice-Chair of Campaign for Popular Media Reform (CPMR) - Board Member of Thai Netizen Network - Policy Consultant on National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission Bill - Policy Consultant on Sub-Committee on Broadcasting Regulation of National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) - Member of committee on licensing criteria for IMT 2.1 (3G & beyond) - Board Member of Film Archive She was awarded the "Communication for Social Change Award" by the University of Queensland, Australia in 2006, and was also selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2004 and Eisenhower Fellow in 2007. |
